Who is responsible
The controller for information collected through this website is Χριστιανική Εκκλησία Αντβεντιστών της Εβδόμης Ημέρας (the Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church). Correspondence address: Maiandrou 7, Nikaia 18450, Greece. Contact us through the Contact page or by post, marking your request “Personal data protection”.
Contact and pastoral requests
When you send a message, we collect your name, email, subject, topic and message, with the submission date and your consent choice. We use these to consider and respond to your request, based on your consent. You may withdraw consent to future use. Sending a message does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Please avoid health information, other people’s details or other sensitive information in the general contact form. For a personal pastoral matter, first request contact from a pastor without including sensitive details in the message.
Donations and tithe
Online gifts are paid into the Greek Mission’s Stripe account. We record the amount, currency, selected purpose and, when selected, local church, transaction identifiers, and payment and refund status. You may optionally provide your first name, last name, email and phone on our form. These details are shared with Stripe alongside your gift and stored in the private payment records. We also record the name and email returned by Stripe from its checkout page. If you request an emailed payment receipt, an email address is required and we instruct Stripe to send the receipt to that address after successful payment. This is a payment receipt, not a guarantee of tax deductibility. We use these details to process and account for your gift, resolve payment problems and meet applicable accounting obligations. Giving does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Stripe collects card details on its secure payment page. Our website does not receive or store your full card number or security code. A giving purpose may reveal information relating to religious beliefs. We request separate explicit consent for that processing and the transmission of necessary details to Stripe. You may contact us about an alternative way to give. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing or legally required record retention.
Newsletter
When subscriptions are available and you opt in, we use your email, optional name, language and consent record to send the newsletter through Dool Mail. This is optional and separate from contact requests and giving. Unsubscribe through the link in each newsletter or contact us. If the provider requires email confirmation, submitting the form alone does not complete subscription.
Security, maps and external content
We use operational logs and submission limits to protect against abuse. Rate-limit counters use hashed identifiers and expire after one hour. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in preventing spam and malicious use.
Google Maps loads automatically on the church finder. Google receives technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to display the map. We do not request your device’s location. YouTube videos are embedded only after the corresponding external-content choice in Cookie settings. Social-network links and other external websites are governed by their providers’ policies.
Access and service providers
Only authorised people who need information to handle your request or account for your gift have access to private records. We use hosting services, Sanity for content and private submissions, Amazon SES for email notifications, Stripe for payments and, when enabled, Dool Mail for newsletters. Form administrators can route messages to the people responsible for responding. Messages and donor details are not published on the public website.
Some providers may process information outside the EEA. Such transfers require an applicable safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses and additional measures where needed. You may request information about the providers and safeguards for the particular processing. Stripe and Google also have their own responsibilities and policies: https://stripe.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Retention
Retention depends on purpose: contact requests are kept to handle them and necessary follow-up; newsletter details until you unsubscribe, with limited consent or suppression records to document your choices. Giving records are kept for applicable accounting-law requirements and outstanding claims. Backups and operational logs are retained for security and recovery needs. The website does not automatically delete submissions; responsible administrators manage records and review retention periodically.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time. Providing information through optional forms is not mandatory; without necessary details we cannot respond, complete a subscription or process an online gift. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated processing.
Send requests through our Contact page or the postal address above. We normally respond within one month, with extensions where the GDPR permits. You may also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority: https://www.dpa.gr.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and improve the website. Google Consent Mode sends limited measurement signals without analytics cookies before acceptance or after rejection of analytics cookies. Google receives technical information such as browser and visited-page information. Acceptance additionally permits analytics cookies for measuring visits and sessions. You can change this choice through Cookie settings. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. We do not send form details, donor information or giving purposes to Analytics. Google also applies its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
